At the Law Office of Ronald L. Broquet, I offer churches and religious organizations experienced and tailored representation in the many different legal issues that may be affecting their organization. I am a solo practitioner with nearly 30 years of experience that I utilize when representing clients throughout the Detroit metro area.

• Incorporation of Entity: Incorporate the ministry and draft church governing documents
  (Bylaws).
• Legal Review of Documents: Confidential review of documents such as contracts, leases, current Articles of Incorporation, Constitution and By-Laws. Often these documents require my involvement in negotiating, updating or restating on behalf of the church.
• Board Meeting Records Requests:  When a member or nonmember makes a written request for copies of board or other minutes of meetings, I will consult with church staff in making sure these documents are handled properly.
• Staff Hiring and Firing:  I can advise you regarding employment, personnel issues and proper termination.
• Embezzlement:  In my experience, churches on occasion have had an employee
  embezzle funds. Unfortunately it does happen. I can counsel you on recovering the amount lost through drafting a Restitution Agreement or initiate legal proceedings if necessary.
• Sexual Molestation: Claims of sexual conduct or molestation have been in the news
  involving church pastors and staff in recent years. I can advise and counsel those accused.
• Insurance Reviews:  Over the years I have worked in the area of negligence law. I will review your church insurance policy and declaration sheet and advise you on the sufficiency and present certain recommendations for your consideration.
• Attendance at Board Meetings, Annual or Special Business Meetings:  It is common for me to be invited to attend certain critical meetings for various reasons. Issues regarding the interpretation of church by-laws and state or federal law may affect current business of the church board or membership under discussion. My involvement can be invaluable in avoiding prospective problems.

General Liability:

I will counsel you regarding liability issues and recommend certain measures to reduce liability exposure or if sued assist you with your insurance company appointed counsel.
